Celebrate Joan's Life with a Tribute in Nature
Donation protected
My name is Beau Feeny, and I am the beautiful son of Joan Feeny, who died on Friday, September 20.
Joanie put beauty into the world. She was an artist, a gardener, and the mother of four children with strong brows and stronger attitudes. She loved wind chimes and her butterfly bushes and the color lavender. She loved her five siblings, four of whom survive her, and her mettle was forged in their upbringing. When she was able, she loved going for walks along the Wissahickon in Valley Green Park with her husband Peter, who survives her, or her lifelong friends.
Our family is planning a memorial service for friends and family to celebrate Joan’s life, with details to be announced shortly. We also will honor her with a stone bench in Wissahickon Valley Park, a monument to the natural beauty of the park she loved, that can be used by people who love nature and sitting alike. It will be a place to visit and relish her memory.
In lieu of flowers, we welcome anyone who is able to contribute to the cost of the bench, which will stand in dedication to her for ten years. Any additional funds will be used to defray costs of the memorial service and other end-of-life expenses, or placed into a fund to endow additional periods of dedication for her bench. Please send a message if you prefer to contribute via another method.
