Honor Jimmy Rushe : Support His Memorial
Donation protected
Dear GoFundMe Community,
My name is Debbie Rushe, and I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart as I try to honor the life of my beloved son, James (Jimmy) Rushe Jr., who passed away tragically on New Year’s Eve due to complications from opioid addiction. Jimmy would have been 46 on January 15th and had been struggling with addiction and homelessness, ultimately passing away in a homeless camp in Greensboro, North Carolina.
As a mother, it breaks my heart to know that his life was cut short. Despite his struggles, Jimmy had a kind heart and a gentle spirit. He loved deeply and always hoped for a better future. Like many who face the battle of addiction, he fought hard but was ultimately unable to overcome it.
I am 70 years old and living on Social Security, which limits my ability to provide my son with the proper memorial service he deserves. I want to honor his memory, celebrate his life, and give him the dignity in death that he did not always have in life.
I am humbly asking for your help to raise funds for his funeral and memorial service. Your support would go directly toward covering the costs of his service, cremation or burial, and a small gathering where friends and family can say their goodbyes.
No amount is too small, and every contribution will bring me closer to giving Jimmy the farewell he deserves. I also hope that through this effort, we can shed light on the struggles faced by so many battling addiction and homelessness and remember those who are often forgotten.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you can provide. If you are unable to contribute financially, I would deeply appreciate it if you could share this campaign with others.
With gratitude and love,
Debbie Rushe
