On November 13th, our mother Jessica Bartlett passed away after a very sudden and aggressive battle with lung cancer.
Nothing prepares you for a quick battle leading to losing a parent- something unfortunately Michael and I are already familiar with, after losing our father suddenly in January of 2018.
Jessica was a force to be reckoned with. She was stronger than she ever realized, and held onto her humor and spicy attitude throughout the past couple weeks of her battle from diagnosis until passing.
We began the week with hopes and talks of treatments to get more time… and it quickly became focused on hospice/comfort, and preparing for her passing.
Unfortunately, there were no plans arranged in advance - as this was a late diagnosis and treatment barely began before she lost her battle.
Her wish was to be cremated, and to be sent off at Cape Cod where her mothers’ remains were scattered.
Instead of services, a celebration of life is far more fitting for her… as she was always loud, laughing, loving, and chaotic.
We will be inviting all family and friends to join together to please share some memories, laughs, hugs- to honor her in the way most fitting for her.
Any help to relieve some of the sudden costs, is appreciated beyond words.
We love and appreciate our village, thank you for your kindness.
**Update as of 11/17 - we have reached our goal which covers just immediate costs of cremation services only.
Any additional support received is being used strictly for the celebration of life for all of our friends and family to join us to put Jessica to rest.
We are so blessed and grateful for the village that surrounds us with love. Thank you.
