Honor Jennifer Lynn McCarther's Memory: Support Her Family

My name is Deja Plater, and I am the daughter of Jennifer L. McCarther.

On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at just 51 years old, my mother’s life was tragically taken by her significant other in Lincoln, NE, before he took his own. Heartbreakingly, she was not found until Friday, October 3rd.

My mother did not have life insurance, and we are humbly asking for support to help us give her a proper home-going service and to provide for my younger brothers, Xavier McCarther and David Henry, who she leaves behind.

Jennifer—known as “Grandma Lynn” to her five beloved grandchildren—was a mother, a daughter, a sister, and a friend whose absence will forever leave an ache in our hearts. Her mother has lost a daughter, her grandchildren will grow up without her love, and our entire family will feel her absence for the rest of our lives.

In the midst of this tragedy, I am deeply grateful for the 32 years I was blessed to share with my mom. She was a light—even when she didn’t realize it—and she touched every life she crossed. May her memory live on through her children, grandchildren, mother, siblings, family, and friends.
