Dear Friends, Family, and Community,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend and VFW Post 8762 member, JC — a proud Vietnam veteran, a daily presence at our post, and a true embodiment of selfless service.
JC wasn’t just a member of our VFW family; he was the soul of our post. Every single day, rain or shine, JC was there — quietly making sure our space stayed clean, the trash was taken out, and the restrooms were stocked and ready for others. He never asked for recognition or thanks. He just showed up, ready to help, because that’s who he was.
He brought joy and music into our lives through his favorite karaoke nights, where he’d sing “Sloop John B” and “Amarillo by Morning”. If you’ve ever heard JC sing, you know those songs will never sound the same again.
Now, as we prepare to lay JC to rest, we’re asking for your help. We want to honor him with the respect and dignity he deserves — as a veteran, as a friend, and as someone who gave so much of himself to our community without ever asking for anything in return.
All funds raised will go toward covering funeral expenses and any remaining costs to ensure JC receives a proper farewell. Any amount helps and is deeply appreciated.
Let’s come together, as JC always did for us, and show his family and loved ones just how much he meant to all of us.
With gratitude,
VFW Post 8762
