Honor Jamie's Memory: Support Her Family

My name is Katayani, and Jamie was my best friend.

To know her is to know kindness, bravery, and courage. Jamie gave so much of her life to helping people. After her initial diagnosis of Synovial Sarcoma, an aggressive cancer, she championed rounds of chemotherapy and neuro-spine surgery. She chose to pursue her dreams of being a nurse after already graduating with a B.S. in Kinesiology. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) summa cum laude, having worked incredibly hard to achieve this accomplishment. During nursing school she again battled cancer and underwent rounds of radiation therapy while completing her clinical rotation. On the day of her NCLEX, she received a phone call that her cancer had come back once again, and metastasized to her lungs; yet, she passed her NCLEX despite the news.

Sadly, Jamie was unable to fully enjoy the career she worked so hard to build. Her parents are now faced with the heavy burden of her funeral service as well as the remaining private student loans, which were taken out to fund her education. In honor of her legacy and in an effort to ease the financial strain on her family during this incredibly difficult time, we are reaching out for support.

She was the definition of resilient, strong, brave, and so much more. From 2018 to 2019 and 2022 to 2024 she took on cancer while living her life to the fullest. Despite the odds and despite the hardship, Jamie always took the chance to choose life and happiness.

Your donations will go directly to help for funeral costs, pay off her private student loans, providing her family with some peace of mind as they navigate the immeasurable grief of losing a daughter, sister, and friend. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference and is deeply appreciated. We are grateful for the love and support we have already received, and we hope to continue to honor Jamie's memory by easing the financial load on her parents.
