Honor Indigo: Support Leilani and Paul's Healing

Four years ago we all rallied behind the Carducci/Fraser family as they started their battle to help Indigo fight cancer. Throughout the last four years Leilani and Paul have dedicated their lives to providing Indigo with both the opportunity for normalcy and joy, while also locating every treatment option available to help her recover and heal. On Sunday, April 27, Leilani and Paul surrounded Indigo with love as she peacefully and with the grace of a true warrior took her last breath.

The reality of four years of fighting to save someone you love from an aggressive cancer is not just emotionally exhausting, but also financially overwhelming. As many of us know grief is a journey. Grief is a process that needs space to breathe. Our hope is to honor Indigo’s final wish that her parents find peace in her death by providing them with the financial security to take the time they need to properly grieve and find that elusive peace.

Although most of us will thankfully never know the grief they are experiencing, I think we all know that what they will need most is time. The care and support that Leilani and Paul provided for Indigo was nothing short of beautiful, and now we must show that same care and support for Leilani and Paul as their community, as their friends, and to honor Indigo.

Indigo will forever be the guiding light in their lives, and we need to support them in providing the time and space to figure out where she will be guiding them to.
