Hello, my name is Michael Rubin, and I am reaching out with a heavy heart after the passing of my father, Harold “Hal” Rubin (June 3, 1945 – 2025).

Hal was more than just a father to me—he was my best friend, my role model, and the cornerstone of our family. Nearly 50 years ago, in 1975, he married the love of his life, Pam, at a Chicago disco called Faces. From the very beginning, my parents were inseparable. Their love story was unconventional to some—my dad being Jewish and my mom a “Shiksa goddess”—but to everyone who truly knew them, they were destined to be together.

After 12 years of hoping and waiting, I was born, their miracle baby. From day one, I was welcomed with more love than I could have imagined. My dad raised me on movie nights, Cub games, and even Monday Night Raw, always showing me the meaning of loyalty, laughter, and perseverance.

Life wasn’t always easy. When our family moved to Las Vegas, my parents faced challenges, especially during the financial crash. Yet, through every high and low, my father’s resilience and humor held us together.

Now, with his passing, that cornerstone is gone, and I must step into a role I wasn’t ready for so soon. This fundraiser is to help cover the costs of my father’s affairs and, most importantly, to support my mom, Pam, as she navigates life without her partner of nearly five decades.
