On August 30, 2025, we lost an incredible man, Gregory Gibbs Sr. , a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, faithful pastor, and a dedicated Sheriff with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office for over 30 years.

My dad was known throughout the community not only for his decades of service in law enforcement, often seen as a School Resource Officer in schools across the county, but also for his lifelong devotion to ministry. Even in his final days, he continued to serve others as a pastor, offering prayer, guidance, and compassion to anyone in need even though he was in the hospital.

One of his greatest joys was sharing his music. Many will remember seeing him at Barnett Park, playing his saxophone for anyone who would listen.

To honor his life and legacy, we are raising funds to place a memorial bench at Barnett Park in his name. This bench will be a place for family, friends, and community members to sit, reflect, and remember the impact he made on so many lives.

Though he is gone, his memory will always remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

His funeral service will be at Mt. Pleasant MBC in Orlando Florida Sept 13th at 11am.
