Honor Greg Bush: Marine Veteran’s Final Rest

Donation protected
Greg Bush, age 67, was a proud US Marine Corps veteran and a cherished part of our family. He served as a Field Radio Operator at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA, and was my husband’s honorary brother and our dearest family friend. Greg was someone who always showed up for those he cared about. He was also a skilled electrician and an active member of electrician societies, always willing to lend a hand or share his expertise. Greg loved playing music—guitar, keyboard, and drums—and would often come over to our house for jam sessions with our 21-year-old son, or just sit at the kitchen table and strum on the guitar. He also had a passion for motorcycles—he was a motorcycle club president back in the 80s—old cars, and being outdoors. He adored his dogs, Gus and Dolly, and just a couple of months ago, we all went to Six Flags in Vallejo, CA, and had a blast together as a family. It had been years since Greg had been on a roller coaster, but he embraced the day with joy. Even while quietly battling cancer, Greg’s spirit never faded—right up to the day he passed, you couldn’t tell he was sick. His service, kindness, and love for life left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him, and we want to honor his memory in a way that reflects the respect he earned throughout his life.

Right now, Greg’s body remains at the coroner’s office, and we are facing an urgent situation. If we are unable to raise the necessary funds soon, the coroner’s office will be forced to abandon his body, and he will be placed in a communal burial without the dignity he deserves. Our goal is to provide Greg with a direct cremation and ensure he is laid to rest at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA, with full military honors.

Myself, my husband, Greg’s son, and his son’s girlfriend are working together as a team to make sure his body is claimed, cremated, and his remains are transported for burial. Every contribution will go directly toward the costs of cremation and the arrangements for his burial with military honors. Your support will help us give Greg the respectful and honorable resting place he deserves, surrounded by those who loved him.
