Honor Granny Gwen’s Beautiful Life
Don protégé
Anyone who knew my mom, Gwendolyn Bashline, knew just how amazing she was. Her heart was as big as the world, always ready to help, always ready to love. I remember once counting the chairs in her backyard and asking why she had so many. I counted 69 that I could visibly see. Her response was simple but profound: "I want everyone to be able to have a place to sit." That was the essence of her — she made sure no one ever felt left out, no one ever felt unloved, no one was ever without a place to belong.
My mom would do absolutely anything for anyone. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her spirit was always willing to serve others. She had a way of making people feel like they mattered, even in the smallest of moments. And if you were lucky enough to hear her laugh, you knew instantly that joy was in the air. Her laugh was infectious. It would fill up any room, any space, and leave a trail of smiles in its wake. Her humor was contagious, her warmth undeniable.
She could be stubborn, but it was part of what made her so special. Her determination to stand by her loved ones, to be there when we needed her most — that was a gift we could never take for granted. She was the person you could count on, the one you could lean on, no matter what. She was the person every single one of us needed when we needed her the most.
At 7:22 pm on March 25, 2025, our beloved mother, Gwendolyn Bashline, left this world and went to be with her daddy. It was unexpected, and absolutely not something any of us, her children, or her husband had planned for. It all happened so quickly, leaving us heartbroken and with a space in our lives that will never be filled the same way again.
We are now asking for help to honor her memory, to have her cremated, and to celebrate the beautiful life she lived. Your love, support, and any contribution toward this effort would mean the world to us as we navigate this difficult time. We are so deeply grateful for each and every one of you who was part of our mother's life, who loved her, and who made her smile in ways only you could.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
With love,
Her children
