On Wednesday, March 29th, Gail Elizabet Nielsen lost her battle with Huntington's Disease.
In lieu of flowers, the Nielsen family suggests memorial contributions be made to this GoFundMe page that will collectively donate the contributions to the Huntington's Disease Foundation in honor of Gail Nielsen. Your donation will go to those fighting for a cure to Huntington's Disease so that some day other suffers of this disease will have a chance at life.

WHAT IS HUNTINGTON'S DISEASE
Huntington’s Disease is a rare degenerative brain disorder in which affected individuals progressively lose their ability to talk, think and move. This disease, caused by a single gene mutation, is fatal, and currently no therapy for it exists.
Approximately 30,000 Americans have HD. It afflicts affected people in mid-life, meaning they have often already had children, who therefore have a 50/50 chance of inheriting the disease. Patients easily become depressed, lose their short-term memory capacity and may also experience a lack of concentration and focus, failure to thrive and lack of nutrition and cognition.
Sparse awareness and limited funding has restricted research efforts towards a cure. Let's donate in Gail's name to help efforts to fight this disease so we can change the future for others.
