Frances' Memorial Tile is paid for.

We're raising money for two things:

1. Emergency funds for Frances' life partner, Mary, to pay past due bills and for a few months' security.

2. An engraved stone tile in the Fountain Street Church Memorial Tower Room, in honor of Frances Hoffman. (Update: $ for Tile has been raised, thanks!)

Donations were split 50/50 between the tile and Mary until the tile was paid for. Since then, 100% of donations have gone to helping Mary pay bills.

Frances' Story:

For over a decade, Frances, a US Army vet, was a fixture behind Fountain Street Church's Sunday Social Hall coffee table, anchoring our morning java fixes. He welcomed members and neighbors alike, helping all feel they were in the right place. He loved conversations, especially about woodworking, often showing pictures of his skilled workmanship.

But issues with his disability income meant he lost access to his tools, as well as creating other financial hardships that were still unresolved when he died.

Frances had a life partner, Mary, who he was with for 25 years. Mary has health issues and requires assistance for everyday life. When Frances died, Mary’s adult son, Ashley, moved in to assist Mary (the photo above is Frances with Ashley when they met, c. 2000). Ashley was available to move in with Mary after Frances died because he lost his job after getting COVID-19. He hopes to become Mary's paid caregiver.

Until that gets resolved, though, their income is short of their current monthly bills amount, on top of debts owed from hardships before Frances died.

While Mary and her son, Ashley, work to straighten out their situation, they could use some assistance.

Please help Mary deal with Frances' loss by reducing their financial stress - every little bit will be greatly helpful and appreciated!
