Honor for Lance Calloway (Mo) ❤️️

Donation protected
hello everyone, my name is desiree calloway.

on june 28th, 2023 around 2:45 in the morning my mom and i experienced our worst fear when we found my brother, lance calloway (mo), stuck under his car, no longer able to breathe when it was too late.

my brother had such a strong passion for cars. with his current car, a mercury grand marquis, he was trying to recreate the build of one of his previous favorite builds, his old crown victoria. he often would be outside working on his car, always wanting to learn and teach himself how to fix it. any time he would upgrade a part of his car it made him so happy, it was a passion for him. that morning, he wanted to stay up late to try to lower the car. my mom and i had went out to check on him multiple times throughout the night due it being so late, and he was usually doing good and was okay. my mom had went out to check once again and found that he was stuck under the car with the axle right on top of his chest, where he was not breathing.  the jack that was supposed to hold the car up collapsed leading the car to fall right on top of him as he was working on it. we ran for help and called 911 but by the time we had found him and by the time help arrived it was too late.

our hearts are aching and are so broken. my brother has always been such a kind, humble, strong, happy, caring young man and always so full of life. he always put his family first and always worked so hard to accomplish his goals and any projects he started. he worked so hard to build each car he had every purchased. he also had a love for basketball, whether he played at the park with our local basketball community, or in front of our house, he always stayed so active and tried to build on himself as well to be the best he can be. my brother always found a way even if it was hard. before his passing, he was starting a couple of businesses, of which we were so proud of him to see him succeeding and doing so well, always hustling. to add he was also a lover of animals, my brother and i grew up always taking care of and playing with our many pets. we had just recently adopted a puppy together and were going to raise him together. often me and him would be outside in the front yard, playing with the dogs, as he also works on his car, and plays basketball. moments like those i wish i still could have with him. they meant the world to me, it was always the highlight of my day.

it all happened so quickly. we are still in denial and do not want to believe that he is not longer with us. he was such a special part of all of our lives and always made everyone smile. everyone who knows my brother knows he had such a happy, goofy personality, and wanted everyone around him to succeed and do great things. my parents and i don’t know what we’re going to do without him.

we are trying our absolute hardest to be strong for him, as he was always strong when he was here with us. my brother was a man of God and i know that the Lord is in heaven with him, taking care of him as he is looking down on us. God has a purpose for my brother, and He called him home with him, a beautiful angel.

my family would like to host a funeral and put together a car event in honor of my brother, as he had passed away fulfilling on his passion. we appreciate any help that we can get to make this happen for my brother, from family, friends, and the community. we want to give him the greatest honor, as he was always so special to us, always walking in love and kindness. anything helps and we are extremely grateful for the support and love shown from everyone for lance, our momo.
