David had a warrior spirit. He was a friend to everyone he met and the ultimate mentor to all of the young Fibrofighters. He garnered the name FatherFibro not just because he fought for 21 years, but because he did it with an open heart, never allowing it to callous him, lessen his humor, or dim his light. He checked on everyone and was always there, even in the height of his own battles.

But for all he was for his fellow cancer community, and the best brother, son, and uncle, he was first and foremost a husband and father. He loved and adored Kris and their children with all that he had. His eyes would shine and his smile would beam when he talked about them. They were his world.

David gave so much of himself to others’ battles when most would have just focused on their own. He was also the primary breadwinner for his family, carrying that responsibility with the same love, strength, and devotion he carried in every part of his life. Now, as they face this unimaginable loss, they need our support more than ever.

He was our Superman, and now we need to be his and help look after what he held most dear in this life: Kris and the kids. Please help us honor David by helping take care of them financially during this difficult time and their transition to life without him.
