It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Cairns, a truly special man who dedicated his life to family and friends.

Since his car accident in 1978, he suffered with pain every day. David and Valerie faced many health challenges over the years, yet he persevered in his career and life. During the last 5 years, he was disabled and wheelchair-bound, but in spite of his condition, he supported his family every step of the way. In an extraordinary act of love, he and Valerie adopted her daughter’s son Ashton to raise as their own.

In his final months, David endured a difficult hospital stay. His wife, Valerie, stood faithfully by his side, providing love and care through it all. Sadly, along with the grief of losing David, Valerie now faces the heavy burden of raising 9-year-old Ashton, paying for funeral expenses, and remaining medical bills.

We are asking for help on her behalf to give David the respectful farewell he deserves and to ease the financial strain of his last months of care.

Every donation, no matter what the amount, will go directly to Valerie to cover:

• Outstanding hospital and medical expenses from David’s final months
