Honor Darryl Hunt: Assist with Memorial Costs
Donation protected
Darryl Hunt was a fixture in the Lakes Region for over 50 years. He impacted many lives in our community and beyond; in one way or another. Maybe he built your chimney or patio, held the door for you at Shawnee Peak, or fixed your water service in the Knights Hill Association.
Darryl was diagnosed with Stage 3 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and was left unable to work since early September, 2023. After a long battle, including an experimental T-cell treatment, Darryl thought he had this illness beat.
Unfortunately, cancer free did not last long. On April 22, Darryl’s 61st birthday, he was admitted to the hospital only to discover that the cancer was back—this time in the form of a brain tumor. After extensive treatments and exhausting every option we had at our disposal, Darryl lost his battle on the evening of Thursday, August 15th in his home surrounded by his wife and three children.
The resurgence of Darryl’s Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and the level of care involved made it increasingly difficult for his wife, Barbara, to work consistently. The Hunt’s are in dire need of assistance affording funeral/memorial expenses as well as residual medical costs. All proceeds would go towards covering these costs and towards giving Darryl the memorial that he deserves.
We appreciate any and all support you can give. We will be keeping this page updated with information on funeral services as we are able to plan them.
