Honor Dani's Memory: Medical Cost Relief

Our sweet greyhound Dani, born November 1, 2012, was more than a pet—she was our heart, our joy, and a gentle soul who left pawprints on lives across the globe. On April 26, 2025, we said goodbye, our hearts shattered. Dani’s incredible journey began in Australia, took her to the racetracks of Macau, China, for six years, and landed her in our arms after she was one of 550 dogs rescued from the abandoned Canidrome. Dani was rescued by and organization in San Diego to her forever home in Orange County, California, Dani soaked up the sun, melted us with her head-on-leg hugs, and showed us what pure, gentle love looks like. Her story of survival and grace touched friends far and wide.

In early 2025, our world turned upside down. Dani, always so strong, started fading, losing weight despite normal bloodwork. Then came the devastating discovery: a growth in her spleen had ruptured, threatening her life. Emergency surgery was her only chance. Against all odds, our brave girl fought through, her spirit shining even in the hospital. We clung to hope as she recovered, and our hearts soared when we learned she’d come home on Saturday. But that morning, a call shattered us—Dani was bleeding internally and slipping away. We rushed to her side, holding her as she passed, surrounded by her pawrents and sister, loved until her final breath.

The pain of losing Dani is unbearable, and the financial burden adds to our grief. Her emergency surgery and hospital stay left us with medical bills exceeding $18,000. Insurance covers some, but we still have a significant portion to pay. We’re reaching out with heavy hearts, asking for help to cover a portion of these costs. Every donation, no matter how small, is a tribute to Dani’s beautiful life and the love she gave so freely. Please help us honor her memory and find some peace in this heartbreak.
