Curt Van Hooser was killed on Sunday, Sept 21, 2025, while riding his motorcycle, when a vehicle failed to stop, giving him no way out and ran into him. He loved everyone and was always willing to donate to someone’s cause.
I am writing this to ask if you can help by donating in his honor. My mother Cyndee Reed Van Hooser is now his widow. A late in life marriage, they have separate bank accounts. He recently retired from Sutter Health. They have been living on reduced income. She is concerned about how she is going to pay for the costs of his services and memorial in addition to her own living expenses.
He was the first Director and Founder of Sierra Thunder Harley Owners Group, Rocklin/Folsom. She is the Founding Secretary and writer of If you can see what I can see, in Thunder Roads NorCal Magazine. His memorial will be held at Folsom HD. Date TBD. They were an inspiration, truly in love. Our family is heartbroken.
The community outreach has amazed us. Following in Curt’s footsteps of kindness and generosity, a family friend asked to establish a memorial scholarship fund in Curt’s honor, with intent to donate to students who are studying motorcycle and automotive mechanics. Any remaining proceeds will be donated to the annual Curt Van Hooser scholarship fund. Thank you,
