Honor Cody's Legacy: Support Local Athletes

Donation protected
To all of Cody's friends, those who love him and those he loves,

The outpouring of love for Cody and our loss as a family, has been incredible. While it doesn’t replace the pain of our broken hearts, it brings to light the impact that Cody had and how many people he touched in his own ways.

More details about the accident have emerged and we feel compelled to share it with you to help gain clarity that how Cody passed was a testament to who he was. Cody got a call about 3am on Saturday morning, August 16th, from a friend who needed a ride home after the friend’s calls to others went unanswered. Genuine to Cody’s nature and without hesitation, he went to pick up his friend. It was on the way home that the accident occurred. There were no drugs and alcohol involved - it’s likely he fell asleep at the wheel. It was a tragic accident with no one to blame. We’re holding on to the fact that he passed away in the midst of caring for someone else’s well-being and we will carry that with us like a bright light.

A memorial for Cody is being planned for winter time. In the meantime, and with the help of friends, we’re setting up a memorial fund in Cody’s name to channel the overwhelming love and support we have received. The Memorial Fund will help local athletes with the same opportunity that Cody had; to be on snow, to discover a passion, live out a dream and be part of the same amazing community that helped shaped who Cody is and will always be. It’s our way to pay it forward in honor of Cody.

Thank you again for the overwhelming love and support during this time,
The Clemente Family
