The Cody Stalling Sober Home Scholarship Fund

Cody Stalling was a valued member of the South Florida Oasis community. He was committed to his sobriety, supportive of others, and took pride in the responsibility he carried as a houseman. Cody showed up for the people around him, and his presence made a real impact within our home.

Tragically, Cody passed away shortly after stepping into a greater leadership role. His loss is deeply felt by those who knew him, and this fund exists to honor his life in a meaningful and constructive way.

In lieu of flowers, Cody Stalling’s family requested that donations be used to establish a scholarship fund in his name.

The Cody Stalling Sober Home Scholarship Fund was created to support individuals leaving treatment who lack immediate financial resources or outside assistance. This fund helps cover initial sober living costs and basic transitional support so individuals can focus on stabilizing, finding work, and continuing their recovery in a structured and accountable environment.

South Florida Oasis exists because this gap is real.

The organization was inspired by my close friend Wael, who experienced a relapse after several years of sobriety. Despite wanting to do the right thing, Wael struggled to find safe and structured housing and experienced periods of homelessness. Watching that unfold made it clear how easily recovery can unravel without stability.

South Florida Oasis was built to provide clean, safe, and structured sober living — not just a bed, but accountability and community. Wael began as a houseman and now manages our properties, reflecting what is possible when people are given structure, responsibility, and time to rebuild.

This scholarship fund is intended to be short-term and transitional, not open-ended assistance. Residents are still expected to follow house rules, work toward employment, and move toward self-sufficiency.

Our goal is to help individuals navigate one of the most vulnerable transitions in recovery — and to do so in a way that honors Cody’s memory with responsibility, care, and integrity.
