Honor Chris Barbour: Memorial Drive Safe Sign

Donation protected
On June 9th, 2022, a young man named Christopher Lamont Barbour tragically lost his life in a car accident. Many of you may remember hearing about it—a little white car vs. a semi carrying logs @ the intersection of Route 262 & Shutterlee Mill.
What you may not know is that it was my car. My daughter was in that car. She survived, but only because of Chris.

Chris was a amazing young man, and he deserves to be honored. My daughter nearly lost her life that day, but he saved her. I cannot even begin to put into words the weight of what was lost that day.

I want to dedicate a stretch of 262 in his name with a roadside memorial and a "Drive Safe" sign in his honor. To make this happen, I am asking for the community’s help in raising $265 for the sign, along with an additional $25 for repairs to the cross that I have and maintain at the crash site. If you haven’t seen it, you should defiantly go visit—especially at night. It stands tall and glows as a reminder of the life lost that day.

I’ve attached a quote from a local sign shop, along with a few heartbreaking photos of the wreckage from that day. If you can find it in your heart to donate, no matter the amount, we can make this happen before the anniversary of his passing.

Thank you for any support you can offer—whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply keeping Chris’s memory alive.
