The members of the Runnemede Fire Company and Lawnside Fire Company are deeply saddened to share the passing of Chief Samuel "Butch" Funches, Jr., a dedicated firefighter, respected leader, and lifelong public servant throughout Camden County and the wider region.
Chief Funches devoted his life to the fire service and to the safety and well-being of his community. His commitment, professionalism, and mentorship left an enduring impact on everyone who had the privilege to serve beside him. He exemplified the highest traditions of integrity, courage, and brotherhood in the fire service.
As we come together to celebrate his life and honor his service, we are asking for your support to continue his legacy and possible future expenses.
