Honor Cathy Panagoulias

Cathy Panagoulias, former Wall Street Journal Deputy Managing Editor, was an accomplished journalist and newsroom leader and beloved by her colleagues.

To honor her work and values, we're raising money for the Journalism Refugees Education Fund.

A fierce advocate for diversity in newsrooms, young careers and great journalism, Cathy brought many generations of new talent into the Wall Street Journal under a belief that more diversity would lead to more diversity of thought, and ultimately better journalism. She personally mentored many and demonstrated what true leadership looks like in its ideal form.

Cathy played an integral role in the Journal’s award winning coverage of Sept. 11, helping the newsroom continue operation while navigating the aftermath of losing its office.
