On 5 May 2025, our dear friend and coworker, Henry “Calvin” Brumit, passed away after a nearly year-long battle with cancer. The effects of chemotherapy and radiation became too much, and he peacefully passed away at the hospital, with his wife by his side.
Calvin is survived by his wife, Brenda Jacobs Brumit; his daughter, Starla Brumit Chandler, and her husband, Keith Chandler, who are expecting a daughter in December 2025; and his son, Kevin Brumit, his wife, Mikaelynn, and their daughter, Madilynn Brumitt.
Calvin joined Engineering Design Technologies, Inc. (EDT) in October 2010, and from that very first day, he inspired everyone around him with his kindness and unwavering spirit. A devoted man of faith, Calvin found his greatest joy in serving others and sharing God’s love through every act of generosity. Even in his final days, he uplifted those battling cancer, encouraging them with hope and strength—and he asked only that we celebrate his life rather than mourn his passing.
As many of you know, battling cancer takes an immense toll not only on our bodies and spirits, but on our finances as well. Even the best insurance plans often leave families facing overwhelming out-of-pocket costs. No matter how carefully we plan, these unforeseen expenses can add up faster than anyone could imagine.
Today, we’re reaching out to ask for your support in helping Calvin’s family navigate this heartbreaking chapter. Every contribution, no matter the size, will ease the financial burden on Brenda, Starla, Kevin, and their loved ones—and allow them to focus on healing and honoring Calvin’s memory.
If you’re able, please consider giving what you can. Your kindness will not only provide practical relief but also remind Calvin’s family that they're surrounded by a community that cares deeply for them. Thank you for opening your hearts—and for helping light the way forward for those who meant so much to us all.
