Our family is heartbroken over the sudden and unexpected loss of Billy Gamarra-Olarte. He was more than a cousin to many of us — he was a light in our lives, always bringing laughter, kindness, and a big heart wherever he went. Billy was the kind of person you couldn’t help but love. A Native of Peru, he lived his 34 years with a spirit full of adventure and a heart full of loyalty. Whether he was traveling on the other side of the world, or just taking his buddy Tyson out for a walk down the street, Billy embraced life with an easygoing joy that inspired everyone around him. He had a way of making people laugh at just the right moment, of finding light even in hard times, and of showing up for the people he loved without hesitation. His family was everything to him—his parents, especially, were not just his greatest supporters, but his closest friends. Billy’s love for animals, his sense of humor, and his deep kindness touched everyone who knew him. Though his time here was far too short, the warmth and laughter he brought into our lives will never fade.
