Our beloved “Mrs. Becky” bravely battled ovarian cancer with grace, courage and unshakable faith and was called Home on July 3, 2025.

The Smelley family has only ever asked for prayers, but after many years of Becky selflessly giving to generations of children and families in our community, it’s our turn to give back.

We are raising funds to help cover lingering medical bills and expenses incurred by the Smelley family during her extended stay at UAB. Funds raised will deposit directly into an account managed by Alan, Becky’s loving husband.

Early in her cancer journey Becky shared Matthew 5:14-16 and reminded us to, “let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Becky’s light illuminated so many of our lives; it’s our time to shine for her.
