My beloved mom, Becky Witt, passed away on June 5th after a massive heart attack this past week.
If you knew Mom, you know she made the world brighter—one kind word, prayer, or handmade gift at a time. Whether she was crocheting something special for Christmas, texting a Bible verse to encourage a friend, or sending a funny photo just to make someone smile, she had a beautiful way of making people feel seen and loved.
She and my dad, Gene, were married for over 51 years. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, service, and community—moving wherever God called them as Dad pastored churches across Texas and Oklahoma. In every place they lived, they formed lasting friendships and left behind a legacy of love.
Mom could talk for hours about memories from the different towns and churches she and Dad called home. Most of all, she loved her family deeply. Her grandchildren brought her endless joy, and she found purpose and delight in being part of their everyday lives.
As their only child, I’ve seen firsthand the love and devotion my parents shared—not just for each other, but for everyone around them. My dad stood faithfully by Mom’s side throughout her health journey, and now he’s entering a new season of life without her.
We’re raising funds to support Dad in the weeks and months ahead. Contributions will go toward:
- Medical expenses from Mom’s extended hospital stay and procedures
- Funeral and memorial costs
- Daily living expenses as Dad takes time off work to grieve and adjust
After more than 40 years in ministry, serving churches across Texas and Oklahoma, my dad retired without much in savings or a traditional retirement plan. Like so many who dedicate their lives to caring for others, he never focused on building wealth—just on showing up with love and faith, day after day. Now, he’s facing this next chapter with limited resources, and we want to help him feel supported as he grieves and begins to rebuild.
Thank you for standing with our family and helping us honor the beautiful life Mom lived and support my dad.
I will update here when we have the memorial date and time secured.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Michael Witt
