On September 8, 2025, our beloved Barbie Lamar Thomas was involved in a single-car accident on her way to the hospital in Lewiston, ID. She was going there to pick up her husband, who had just undergone surgery after breaking his leg in four places from a separate accident.

Barbie spent nearly two weeks in the hospital fighting bravely, but tragically, she lost her life on Saturday, September 20th.

Barbie was truly one of a kind. She carried a smile that could brighten any room, and she touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her sudden passing has left an ache in our family and in the lives of her many friends.

This loss has been especially devastating for her husband, who is still recovering from his own accident and injuries. Together, Barbie and her husband lived modestly, supported only by social security, without retirement funds or savings to fall back on. In addition to losing Barbie, the family has also lost their dog and their car — leaving them overwhelmed in every way imaginable.

We are asking for help to honor Barbie’s memory with the dignity she deserves. Donations will go directly toward covering cremation costs, a beautiful urn, and a celebration of life where friends and family can gather to remember the love and joy she gave so freely.
