Honor Barbara by Assisting Her Mother

On June 21, 2025, my best friend Barbara passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a bright light in this world, whose presence made life better for everyone around her. Her passing has left a deep hole in our hearts and in the lives of those who knew and loved her.

Barbara was a beautiful soul who dedicated her life to helping others. Whether she was volunteering in the community, lifting up a friend, or offering her time and energy to causes close to her heart, Barbara always led with compassion. She truly made the world a better place — and everyone who crossed her path felt it.

Barbara also provided financial and emotional support for her mother, Porchanee Butler, who is now in her 70s and navigating the heartbreak of losing her daughter and the sudden changes that come with it.

Her mother now faces the difficult challenge of relocating, and my hope is to help her move closer to my family so that we can offer the care and companionship she deserves. A huge thank you to Barbara's dear friend, Jill Barnhurst, who has been walking this journey with us and who has been instrumental in helping care for Barbara and her mother through both cancer diagnoses.
