Honoring My Father’s Life and Service

On 10/1/2025, my father, Avelardo Torres — though everyone knew him as Gabe — lost his long battle with cancer, just weeks after suffering a severe stroke. Thankfully, I was able to be in Albuquerque with him and by his side during his final days and moments.

My father was a U.S. Army veteran, and we are arranging for him to be laid to rest with military honors at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in New Mexico.

While the VA provides some support, it unfortunately does not cover all of the costs involved in the funeral services.

I’m humbly requesting assistance in covering the remaining funeral expenses and any costs related to settling his estate. Any contribution — no matter the size — 

would mean the world to me and my family during this difficult time.
