Honor April Tagliaferri: Support Her Family

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

With profound sadness and joy, we announce the passing of our dear April Dawn Tagliaferri, who left us on January 3, 2025, following a year of bone marrow failure that was untreatable. April was a beloved mother, great-great-grandmother, wife, aunt, sister, devoted soul friend, and prayer warrior, whose kindness, compassion, warmth, and unwavering love touched the lives of so many all over the world.

April was a devoted family member, passionate about her church, and actively involved in it and the community throughout her life. Whether fundraising or leading a prayer chain or women's group, she was always available and willing to serve. She brought joy and laughter to everyone she encountered and was always ready to give a personal word and prayer, as well as a helping hand and a dollar. April's legacy of love and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

As the sole provider for this family, her husband, Robert Sr., retired from 30 years with the state of California, leaving the provisions to care for April into her elder age when he passed in 2014. Benjamin, my husband, took upon himself this journey of caregiving for both of them. Benjamin moved in with them, becoming their housekeeper and caretaker in 2009 after Robert had a diabetic stroke by the swimming pool. In 2010 Robert was hit with a flesh-eating bacteria that caused him to eventually lose his leg and live the last 10 months on a ventilator. Benjamin cared for Robert every day until he passed in 2014. (All the while caring for April )
Benjamin, through the help of Robert, moved me and our children to Vegas in 2012 to continue to provide complete in-home 24-hour care and compassion. What a great opportunity to be able to live this way, with them with us and them surrounded by their loved ones at the ring of a bell. A true legacy to our children and granddaughter. April was the matriarch of this family, with a drive to live to be 100. She was our beacon of hope and support in all ways. Becoming bedridden in the few years after Robert's passing, Benjamin dedicated himself to her as a companion and her healthcare giver. Benjamin stayed dedicated to April's health and care 24/7, holding her hand as she took her last breath at home.

The Purpose of the Fundraiser:
During this time of mourning, we are reaching out for your support. The expeditious, unexpected loss has left our family facing unforeseen expenses, including medical bills, and other financial challenges to survive this huge loss. In the wake of this tragedy, our family is not only dealing with immense emotional pain but also overwhelming financial difficulties. My husband Benjamin was diagnosed 100% mentally disabled in 2001. I never thought he would be able to work again. His unconditional devotion and love have shown all of us what kind of special man Benjamin truly is. We have a $1,100.00 social security income. All other monies abruptly stopped as of January 2025. The bills do not stop.
Immediately, it has felt like the world has been ripped from us. I know I have lost my beloved mother. However, as I watch my husband, I see he has not just lost a mother, confidant, friend, schedule of life, and job but has lost his stability. He has been gifted the home for all he was to Robert and April and would like to not lose it due to finances. Once your loved one passes, so does all the income supporting the in-home caregiver. We aim to ease some of this burden so we can plan forward, secure our home, and focus on healing and honoring the cherished life April led (and the honor Robert gave Benjamin of being his father).

How You Can Help:
(Maybe a Sunday morning collection in "In lieu of flowers" for April Tagliaferri)
All who loved her,
We humbly ask for your support in any way possible. If April ever taught one thing, it is how to be a giver. No donation is too small, and every contribution will make a meaningful impact. If you are unable to donate, please freely share this campaign with others who may wish to help.

1. Provide financial stability to this family, who gave all the unconditional love and dignity possible till her last breath.
2. Alleviate the burden of the overwhelming expenses and other immediate needs.

Closing:
My dear April may not have made it to 100 as she wished. However, till the end, she was always the first person in the room to pray, encourage, and motivate others to continue to work through issues when things seemed almost impossible. April was always willing to stand up for what she believed was right. She was a wealth of knowledge and history, a solid support, always inspiring, motivating, and shaping us all to be the individuals we are today and the unit we will be tomorrow.

Thank you for your love, support, and generosity during this challenging time. Your kindness is deeply appreciated and will help the Tagliaferri family find hope, peace, and comfort in the days ahead.

With heartfelt gratitude, Robin Tagliaferri <3 April's Daughter. She called me "Her Joy."
