Honor Angelo Buckner's Legacy: Funeral Aid
Donation protected
Hello family and friends. My father, Angelo “Buck” Buckner, passed on Friday, April 25, 2025. He had been dealing with health issues for the past few years, and unfortunately, on this last hospital visit, his health took a drastic turn for the worse. No one in our family was expecting anything like this to happen anytime soon.
Now it has come time to make funeral arrangements, and that is not turning out how my other two siblings and I were expecting it to.
Our father always assured us that when his time came, the military would take care of everything, but now that we are here and trying to get the ball rolling, we found that they only cover the burial portion, and not the actual funeral costs of $5500 (the funeral home was able to work with us on the price, as well). His discharge papers stated that he had a life insurance policy, but after gathering more information, we found that the policy had lapsed some time back, leaving him without coverage and leaving us responsible for the remaining costs. All three of us are fairly young and are not financially able to come up with the money in a reasonable amount of time to say our final goodbyes to our father.
Being that our father is an honorably discharged disabled veteran, we have reached out to VFW and other government resources to try to get help, but we haven’t gotten anywhere with them. So this is somewhat of our last resort for us to give our father a proper send-off.
We want to thank everybody for their calls, texts, and prayers, and we are extremely grateful for ANY and ALL donations that are given to help us out in this hard time! We are hoping to get the arrangements made a finalized this week if possible so that we can let everyone know when the funeral and burial will be.
Again we greatly appreciate each and everyone of you for all of your patience , and your love and support you have extended to us.
