In 2025, Linda Cook was no longer allowed to be alone at her home in Norwich, VT. She was unable to care for herself and her home was in disrepair. It was decided that Linda needed to move into an assisted living facility and I became her Vermont Court-appointed Guardian. I accepted this commitment because of all that Linda did for our Town. The Cook family has deep roots in the Upper Valley and is well-known for their involvement in the Norwich Fire Department, Town government and their family business LH Cook, Inc. Linda was honored as the Norwich Women's Club Citizen of the Year in 2020. She was chosen for this award in part for her long-time service to Norwich. Linda and I have known each other for 30+ years, and I believe that Linda deserves our support as she meets new challenges in her life at 72 years of age. It is important that Linda stay in the assisted living facility and receive the care she needs. My hope is that others will contribute to this effort so she can meet her monthly financial commitments.

I want to provide her with dignity as she declines in health and needs more and more assistance.
