Battlefield Cross Carving-Honor and Heal: Aid for Veterans

I need your help. I have served in the military for over 21 years now in the U.S. Air Force as a Security Forces Defender. I have been deployed 4 times with 2 of those being combat deployments to Iraq. I’m at an undisclosed location with my active duty brothers and sisters. We encompass all branches that go from Admin to Green Berets. I’m here getting treated for PTSD and other underlying issues. Here we call ourselves “The Tribe”. My military brother Anthony Marquez was a former Marine K-9 Handler that lost 17 of his brothers that were with him in 2011 in Sangin, Afghanistan. Sangin is in the Helmand Province and has been the hell area of the war. He started up his company to honor Gold Star Families. He delivered all 17 carvings to the families of their loved one that was Killed in Action. Above in the photos I’ve attached, is two he previously did for me. I delivered one to the Bucca family on 9/11 at Ground Zero. Ron Bucca was a Green Beret and a Fire Marshal for the New York City Fire Department. He lost his life running up the stairs to save others when the World Trade Center South Tower collapsed. They named the Camp in Iraq Bucca to honor him and thats where I went for my first deployment. His son Ron Bucca Jr. joined the Green Berets after his father died that’s in the photo above with me and his family. He’s currently still serving in 19th Group. The other carving he did for me was for A1C Elizabeth Jacobson’s family. I went to Tech school with Liz. She was our relief at Bucca and was killed shortly after we left by an IED. She was the first female to die in the Iraq War. I presented the Battlefield Cross to their family in September 2020 at Ellington Field in Houston Texas.
