Honor Adrian Garcia: Support His Memorial

Donation protected
As most of you already know, Adrian Garcia is no longer with us. Adrian was the most amazing, kind-hearted person you could ever meet. He would literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed it! He was a father, a son, and my best friend in the entire world. I have been working closely with his daughter Kya and her mother to ensure that he is appropriately laid to rest. I knew him all too well and knew that he would not have wanted to rely on others to help him and his family get through these challenging times. But the reality is that we all want/need to help him be treated with honor and dignity. I will make sure every penny is given to his daughter Kya to help with the funeral and memorial costs and any amount left over to help pay for Kya's college tuition. He loved his daughter more than anything in this world, and I know he would be happy to know that we are doing everything in our power to support her in these difficult times. Thank you all for taking the time to contribute. Please share this with everyone you know! I will continue to update this page as I have more information.

I have rented out a large pavilion at Palmer Park Lazy Land for Adrian's memorial service. The date will be Sunday, September 15th, with the time still to be determined. As we all know, Adrian was a huge Denver Broncos fan, and they happened to be playing that afternoon. He would have loved for everyone to show up in their Broncos gear and celebrate his life. I will bring my TV and generator to make sure the game is on for him!

I know some of his other friends are trying to organize a poker tournament for his birthday on October 4th. As I get more information, I will keep everyone informed.

I know a lot of you are concerned about his dog Sancha. As of right now, she is safe and well cared for by a family close by and seems to have bonded with their young daughter very well.

Now, I'd like to share a few memories about the man who had more positive impacts on my life than anyone else. For those of you who don't know me, My name is Dylan Currier. I first met Adrian when I was 13, and he was 19. Adrian was driving around my neighborhood, bumping ICP with a bunch of hatchman stickers on his car. After seeing him a few times, he stopped to talk to me cause I had an ICP t-shirt on. I found out that he lived right across the street. We became quick friends! I went to show one of my best friends all the ICP stickers on his car one evening, and Adrian's friend Salvador ran outside to confront me. For a brief moment, I was scared shitless, then Adrian came outside and laughed and told his friend that I was cool, and he invited my buddy and I inside! Shortly after this, he found out that he was going to become a father. I used to go over to his house all the time, especially to watch CSI Miami with him and Alicia while she was pregnant. I'll never forget the day we were working on his 1970 Impala when he got a brief phone call and told me he needed to go because Kya was being born. In the years that followed, we made some incredible memories together, including driving across the country 4 times to attend The Gathering Of The Juggalos. I could write a whole book about all the crazy shit that we did together back then! I eventually moved away to Summit County, Colorado, and we had not talked for almost a year. Until one day when I won 2 club-level tickets to the Broncos vs Ravens Playoff game, you know, the one that went into double overtime! Everyone was asking me who I was going to take with me, and there was not one second in my mind that I thought of taking anyone else other than Adrian. Needless to say, it was the best 6 quarters of football of my life, all thanks to him being there with me! The last time I got to see him was a few weeks ago outside of my restaurant, he saw me walking out and pulled over to chat, very much like the first time I ever met him. While we were talking, a man who was down on his luck walked over and asked for some spare change. Without thinking twice, Adrian opened his car door and pulled out a stack of $5's and $1's and gave it all to him. That is just who he was. The kindest soul I have ever known! He helped shape me into the man I am today, and I will always do my best to honor his memory! I love you Adrian, and miss you more than you'll ever know. Rest in peace, my brother; I'll see you on the other side, aka Shangri La.

As I write this, from what feels like being underwater from all the tears, I ask forgiveness if I left out any details that you might be looking for. I ask for everyone to give his family space and time to grieve. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me, and I will help answer them as best I can. I couldn't leave without quoting his favorite movie.
