Honor Adam Ilvess with a Lake Halice Bench

Donation protected
We are raising funds to install a memorial bench at Lake Halice in honor of Adam Ilvess, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 40.

Adam was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who had an undeniable passion for fishing. From the time he was a toddler, he had a talent for it—out-fishing grown men by the age of five! Lake Halice was his go-to fishing spot, a place where he found peace and joy throughout the week. To honor his memory, we would love to place a memorial bench at the lake so family, friends, and fellow anglers can reflect and remember the incredible person he was.

Beyond his love for fishing, Adam was a talented chef who dedicated his career to serving the community. He worked in several residential care facilities, finding joy in bringing comfort through food. After the challenges of COVID-19 in the medical field, he returned to his roots as a cook at Hy-Vee, where he had worked during high school and college. Adam also had a deep love for sports, adventure, and learning—whether it was football with his niece and nephews, traveling across the U.S. and Canada, or soaking up history, science, and comedy.

Our goal is to raise $2,500 to cover the cost of the bench and its installation at Lake Halice. We are working with the Lake Halice Homeowner’s Association to ensure the bench meets all guidelines and is placed in a meaningful location near the water.

If you knew Adam or want to help honor his memory, we would greatly appreciate any contribution toward this tribute. Thank you for your kindness, support, and for helping us create a lasting place where Adam’s spirit can be remembered.

❤️ Rest easy, Adam. Your love for life and fishing will never be forgotten.

All donations will go directly toward the cost of the memorial bench and installation.
