Support the Family of Ghafour Abid, Silenced Journalist

Last week, Afghan journalist Abdul Ghafour Abid was tragically killed near the Durand Line by Pakistani militias while reporting on attacks against Afghan civilians.

Abid dedicated his life to amplifying the voices of victims of violence, bringing truth and justice to those who had none. His fearless work has been silenced, leaving behind a grieving family, including three young daughters.

The loss of Ghafour is not only personal but also national - a reminder of the high price journalists pay to defend truth and human dignity.

To honor his courage and support his family in this time of need, the Afghan Cultural and Community Association of Vancouver has launched this fundraiser. All contributions will go directly toward providing for Abid’s family - ensuring his daughters have access to education, basic needs, and hope for the future.
