Road to Mills College Graduation
Donation protected
*Hello Gold Souls*
First of all, thank you so much for clicking my campaign (:
I would like to ask for your support so I can finish my undergraduate education at Mills College.
It's been a long road to finishing my education... I started in 2010 at Solano Community College as a Psychology major. During my time there, I had to learn what it meant to be a disciplined student and being a parenting student after I gave birth to my daughter in 2013. Finally, I earned 3 Associate degrees in 2014 and transferred to Mills College in 2015.
I am just one semester away from earning TWO Bachelor degrees! One in Music (with an emphasis on Culture) and the other in Psychology. C/o 2017!!
Being the great school that Mills College is, they have failed to truly support low-income parenting students to be able to complete an education in a higher institution. They accepted me into the school for my story and my merit but didn't take into consideration that I would most likely need more assistance.
They are currently threatening that I will not be able to finish my education if I do not have sufficient funds by December. My naturally independent nature told me that I could do it alone. But I can't. I truly need the help of my village to get me through this. It has been difficult to find work that would help me because I am going to school full-time and I am raising my daughter alone; this is not to discount the family and friends that have shown support in anyway - I am simply saying I am her primary caregiver.
So, please, if you would like to truly support me as an student, mother, activist, local artist, donate to my campaign. I will make sure to thank every single one of you on my next project in the thank you section (:
Peace & blessings,
