Honeybunny Needs Your Help to Survive

Donation protected
My cat Honeybunny has an obstruction in her intestines and needs surgery to survive.

I got HB in 2017 - i pulled over to make a phone call and saw her in a vacant lot. She was skinny & sick so i knew she was a stray. I took her home planning to find a shelter to take her to the next day, but when we got home she curled up on my lap & went to sleep. That was almost 9 years ago & she's been with me ever since.

A few days ago she started vomitting & having diahrrea. I took her to the vet, and they did full tests and xrays, and found she has a foreign substance in her intestines and its not moving. The vet said it could be hair or something else, but ive never known her to eat anything she shouldnt - not threads or paper or anything at all. I went back the next day for another xray to see if it had moved at all and it hadnt.

I am going back again today, and if the mass still hasnt moved, the only option is surgery, which is 4-5k.

I had $2500 saved in an account specifically for an emergency with HB but the initial tests alone were $1400 - i had no idea they'd be that much. The second day i went back i paid another couple hundred for the 2nd xray & meds, and when i go back today the vet wants to do a sonogram, which is $650 - and then my emergency fund is gone.

I cant lose her. She's the sweetest kitty i've ever had - she sleeps curled up next to me every night, ive never heard her growl, she loves to play, and she's not even afraid of the vaccuum, lol. Ive never had a kitty like her.

Anything at all helps, even a dollar! Thank you for reading ‍⬛

UPDATE May 31 2025

HB pooped a little once 2 days ago, she is eating and drinking enough that the vet said tues to watch her for a couple days. I called with an update thursday and was told that the vet would call me back friday but he did not. I called today (sat) and was told he was too busy and would call me tmrw. At the moment we are in limbo and if she doesnt poop more she needs to get an ultrasound which is 650. Im alao conaidering trying another vet for a 2nd opinion.
