** update
Saw the doc today
He is absolutely blown away with her.
Told me that he had to triple check that the test results were in fact hers. Because he truly couldn't believe how healthy she is.
And that dogs half her age arnt as good as her.
The only health concern is the tumor. But it's best case scenario. In that it's currently only an external tumor.
And has not worked it's way into her internal organs.
**Meet Honey-bear, a 14yr old German Sheppard cross boarder collie from Red Deer Alberta a one of a kind dog with the biggest personality.
Once you meet her.. You'll believe she's a human trapped in the best doggo!
12 and half years ago honey came into my life. A young scared rescue terrified of people and especially men.
After removing her from the abusive home and taking her to a loving home full of people to spoil and praise her she started to regain trust in people.
1 year later she started to love people especially women. She knew that people could have good hearts and 99.9% of people just want to love on her.
She became my copilot at Coca-Cola and would travel all over the province making delivers and getting all the pets and treats from store owners.
I swear stores started double ordering just to have a visit from Honey-Bear
Honey was always at my side. Be it work or play she truly was glued to me and I to her.
She's my best friend my super hero my everything.
We've been through alot together.. from rescuing her to becoming a working doggo.
We moved to BC a couple years later where she got to experience the ocean. And let me tell you this dog is meant to be a fish ! She won't get out of the water.
Honey has been by my side for the happiest moments in my life to the darkest days. She has always been there for me to help and support me mentally.
I truly wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for Honey-Bear.
She has always put me first. Hiding her pain or fear to stay strong and protective.
But through that she has been keeping a secret from me.... that she has breast cancer. She has never shown pain or hinted at anything. Until I found the lump and our eyes locked. And I could feel her saying "you weren't suppose to find that dad"
I broke down. My poor baby girl, my best friend, my everything has been hiding her pain and suffering to ensure that I'm ok.
A rushed vet visit and we got the diagnosis she does in fact have breast cancer and her tumors are growing very fast.
Now it's my time to step and be the strong rock for like she has been for me for 12 years.
After some blood work, urine test and x-rays. We received some good news. That she is a perfectly healthy dog and has zero issues expect for the cancer.
Even better news is that the cancer has not spread past her breast. Which makes her able to have surgery preformed.
The vet is very impressed with Honeys health and thinks that she is a great candidate for surgery !
There's hope yet baby girl you have many more years ahead.
The struggle is that the surgery alone is going to cost $6000 not to mention the rehabilitation.
Now I'm not one to ask for help. But some one needs to speak for those who can't. So here I am reaching out for honey bear. Asking anyone who can help in anyway.
Thank you for your time in reading this and your thoughts and prayers for the Honey-Bear
