Honey Bee Rescue for Bill Kaufman

Bill Kaufman was notified by neighbors Wednesday morning (6/13/2023) that his truck was on fire. Thankfully no one was injured. Bill however lost not only his truck but his whole cut-out business. If you know anything about Bill, it's his love for honey bees and educating the community about this very misunderstood insect. He is a wonderful mentor to so many Beekeepers, and this is a huge setback for him and his business. A cut-out is a way of removing a colony of bees from a structure, a tree, or a wall. Cut outs involve literally cutting out a hive, including the bees and all their comb. It also involves extensive cleanup to remove all wax, honey, and other messy, sticky bee by-products. This is a large task and Bill loves doing it. Even with this setback, Bill keeps us laughing with the post-fire videos and treasures he is finding along the way- Like his hive tools.
