Hi y’all! I’m Mallory Jochen, owner of San Antonio local charcuterie business, Honey and Pickle!
Let’s take a short drive down memory lane! Buckle up, it’s going to be a ride
Do you remember a time during the beginning of the pandemic where we all needed something to do that required a bit of time and patience? When everyone was sharing sourdough starter, I decided a veggie garden was my best bet. After the first harvest, and sharing my pickled cucumbers with friends- it was obvious I had something good on my hands! This was only the start to spark an idea, that later turning to a dream business taking flight!
H+P was born in late 2020, but didn’t quite feel like a full fledged business. We were limited to delivery only, while working in a kitchen space with very few employees, and a lot of precautions to keep us in limited contact with customers. Zoom parties and delivery orders kept us going, but events and shindig’s coming back into play really showed we were growing!
From bachelorette parties, birthdays, thank you cheese, boss’s day, baby showers, weddings, house showings, welcome home gifts and more- we’ve taken care of over 1,000 orders while working in shared kitchen spaces!!!
Now…It’s time to grow!
We’ve been given the opportunity to rent our very own space, with potential to grow into a small business store front for order pickups and grab and go’s. This is an INCREDIBLE opportunity! I stayed rather quiet and humble in the beginning of the business, because I wanted to see if we could truly thrive without just our friends and family’s support. I guess I proved my own point and I’m ready to ask for some help!
For now, the goal is $10,000. This will help me to purchase reach in fridges, a freezer, prep tables, storage containers, and more branding materials to help us prepare for the immediate upcoming business & holidays, and to better prepare us for the growth we know is coming!
