Jill and Roy were high school sweethearts. They married, and had three lovely boys, Isaac (now 25), Jared (20), and Evan (11). Jill worked as a hairdresser and Roy as a graphic designer. Then 9/11 happened. Suddenly Roy was laid off. The temp jobs didn’t provide the insurance they once had. The chronic pain Jill has been in for most of her life has caused her to develop other medical issues that limited her ability to work: fibromyalgia, a torn meniscus, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ) which causes jaw pain and has led to tooth loss, carpal tunnel, and atypical trigeminal neuralgia which has lead to more jaw/tooth pain and chronic headaches. Jill recently had surgery on her knee, but physical therapy isn’t covered by their insurance. In addition, their son Jared was involved in a severe accident that caused traumatic brain injury and bipolar disorder. For eighteen years, this family has been on the edge, scrambling and tightening the belt, just to maintain a normal life. All couples have ups and downs, but the hills and valleys the Honeggers have experienced have been abnormally severe. They have stayed strong, prayed fervently, and stood proudly for so long. Please help them finally start to feel like their feet are on solid ground.
