Toy Drive for Honduras
Donation protected
The Backstory
After the 2018 holiday season, I casually sat down with Rosa and told her that a friend recently traveled to Ecuador to distribute toys in the country’s rural areas. Inspired and committed, we decided to do the same for Honduras.
Honduras is a low income country that faces major challenges and more than half of the population lives in poverty. As young immigrants, there tends to be a wish or dream to stay connected to our communities of origin and make a difference back home. This is our connection.
This is why we need your help!
Some kids don't get to open any gifts during the most wonderful time of the year and for a lot of children, this is the one opportunity for them to receive a present. We are hoping to bring Christmas Spirit to them, their families, and the community.
We are aiming to provide toys for at least 200 children during the holiday season. We have partnered with two facilities - a local hospital and transitional housing residence that provides services to children and adolescents in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Both are happily accepting all toy donations and are allowing us the opportunity to distribute them in person.
How you can help?
Donations of any size are welcome. Your contribution helps to purchase toys, shipping boxes, delivery fees, and a rental passenger van to transport the toys.
Please share the link amongst your family, friends and anyone you know!
