Honduras Disaster Relief Donations from Indiana

2020 has been a year of uncertainty and what sounds like constant bad news around the world. Unfortunately, Honduras and other countries in Central America were hit by Hurricane Eta this past November 5th causing record flooding and destruction on its way.

Thousands of families have completely lost their homes and are now in shelters with nowhere to go. 

While these events are out of our control, a group of Hondurans currently living in Indianapolis, US have decided to unite forces and gather donations that will be sent to Honduras to help those in need. These donations will be donated directly to Ruth Paz Foundation, a local and well established charity organization located in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Such organization will work locally to personally distribute the donations for us to those most in need. 

With the money donated we intend to buy as much food and medicine to send in the shipping containers leaving November 16th and November 23rd. Evidence of such purchases will be posted for absolute transparency. 

Additionally, we are taking donations locally at the following locations Monday Nov. 9th through Sunday Nov. 22nd from 2pm to 7pm.

- Blankets, Bed Sheets
- Mattresses 
- Clothes & Shoes (all ages)
- Diapers
- Canned Food
- Powdered Milk / Baby Formula
- Face Masks
- Hand Sanitizer
- Personal Hygiene items
- Medicine (Cold Remedy, Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Anti-Fungal creams)

2020 ha sido un año de incertidumbre y de constantes malas noticias en todo el mundo. Desafortunadamente, Honduras y otros países de Centroamérica fueron azotados por el huracán Eta el pasado 5 de Noviembre causando inundaciones nunca antes vistas y mucha destrucción en su camino.

Miles de familias han perdido completamente sus hogares y ahora se encuentran en refugios sin ningún lugar adonde ir.

Si bien estos eventos están fuera de nuestro control, un grupo de hondureñas que actualmente viven en Indianápolis, Estados Unidos, han decidido unir fuerzas y recolectar donaciones que se enviarán a Honduras para ayudar a los necesitados. Estas donaciones se donarán directamente a la Fundación Ruth Paz, una organización benéfica local y bien establecida ubicada en San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Dicha organización trabajará a nivel local para distribuir personalmente las donaciones a los más necesitados.

Con el dinero donado tenemos la intención de comprar la mayor cantidad de alimentos y medicinas para enviar en los contenedores que salen el 16 de Noviembre y 23 de Noviembre. La evidencia de tales compras se publicará para una transparencia absoluta.

Además, estamos recibiendo donaciones a nivel local a partir del  Lunes 9 de Noviembre al domingo 22 de noviembre de 2 p.m. a 7 p.m en los siguientes lugares:

- Medicina (para el resfriado, Tylenol, ibuprofeno, cremas antihongos)
