This October, I am planning on going on a mission trip to Honduras on behalf of Christ Fellowship Church, Dawsonville. We will be spreading the gospel to untouched ears, “Therefore go make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”- Mathew 28:19. We will be going to hospitals, street corners, prisons, and more, healing and ministering in the name of Jesus. Mathew 10:8 says, “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons, freely you have received, freely you give.” Along with that, we will be bringing supplies and provisions to the people in need. They currently cannot economically handle a larger infrastructure without outside assistance of supplies. Lastly, we will be helping with a youth conference that they are holding there, “let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven”- Mathew 19:14.
I originally never planned on going. It was never a matter of if I wanted to or not; I had just never been on a mission trip before. It was out of my comfort zone. That was until the Sunday after July 4th. I ran into Mr Brian Norris, an elder at CFC who happens to be in charge of the missions. He explained that, while he was mowing the lawn, God told him that I needed to go on this trip. Mind you, I barely know Mr Norris, but I pray that the will of God, that which was revealed to him, will prevail. Jesus has done so much for me; giving unto others what he has given unto me is the least I can do. He didn’t turn my life upside down; he set it right side up. I am ready to see him do it to others again and again and again.
