Marty lebt den Traum - fast. Er ist der Roadie seiner Lieblings-Punkband Homunculus Grave. Doch am Konzerttag offenbart sich, wo er wirklich stehen will. Als der Frontsänger kurz vor Auftritt kollabiert, schlägt Marty sich selbst als Ersatz vor.

Zwischen verschwitztem Backstage, grellem Bühnenlicht und einer psychedelischen Innenwelt erzählt HOMUNCULUS GRAVE (AT) von der Suche nach Identität und unterdrückten Sehnsüchten.

Der Homunculus, ein kleines Wesen, das in jedem von uns lebt, steht dabei sinnbildlich für unsere verdrängten Gefühle und Sehnsüchte. Er urteilt nicht. Er verstärkt nur das, was bereits in uns steckt.

Andjani, Dilara, Ivarr, Marten und Eli. Fünf Freunde und langjährige Kollegen. Dieser Film wird nicht nur ein Portfolio Projekt, sondern auch unsere Visitenkarte für unser frisch gegründetes Kreativstudio für Film und visuelle Kunst: Studio Manen.

Look & Feel

Pop trifft auf märchenhaften Alptraum. Tonal bewegt sich der Film zwischen psychedelischen Thriller und Mystery. Referenzen wie Fight Club, American Psycho oder Donnie Darko inspirieren den psychologischen Blick auf Identität, während Werke wie Mind Game, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Death Note und NANA die stilistischen Brüche in der Bildwelt prägen. Mit Homunculus Grave (AT) wollen wir eine tiefgründige und unterhaltsame Reise durch das menschliche Gehirn erzählen.

Warum wir eure Unterstützung brauchen

Als unabhängige Filmschaffende finanzieren wir einen großen Teil dieses Projekts selbst. Trotzdem fehlt uns noch ein Teil des Budgets.

Wir haben bereits ein großartiges Team zusammengestellt, das uns bei der Realisierung hilft und eine einzigartige Location: die MS Stubnitz in Hamburg. Auch ein großer Berliner Filmtechnikverleih stellt uns Equipment zur Verfügung.

What Do You Define Yourself By?

Marty is living the dream, almost. He’s the roadie for his favorite punk band, Homunculus Grave. But on the day of the concert, he discovers where he really wants to be. When the lead singer collapses shortly before the show, Marty volunteers himself as a replacement.

Set between sweaty backstage rooms, glaring stage lights, and a psychedelic inner world, HOMUNCULUS GRAVE (AT) explores the search for identity and suppressed desires.

The homunculus, a small creature that lives inside each of us, serves as a metaphor for our repressed feelings and desires. It doesn’t judge. It simply amplifies what is already inside us.

Andjani, Dilara, Ivarr, Marten, and Eli. Five friends and long-time collaborators. This film will not only be a portfolio project, but also serve as our calling card for our newly founded creative studio for film and visual arts: Studio Manen

Look & Feel

Pop meets fairytale nightmare. Tonally, the film moves between psychedelic thriller and mystery. References such as Fight Club, American Psycho, and Donnie Darko inspire the film’s psychological exploration of identity, while works such as Mind Game, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Death Note, and NANA shape the stylistic breaks within the visual world.

With Homunculus Grave (AT), we want to tell a profound yet entertaining journey through the human mind.

As independent filmmakers, we are financing a large part of this project ourselves. Nevertheless, we are still missing a portion of the budget.

We have already assembled an amazing team to help us bring the film to life, as well as secured a unique location: the MS Stubnitz in Hamburg. A major film equipment rental company from Berlin is also providing us with equipment.
