Coach Sadia was a father of three young children, but also a brother, a son, and above all a man deeply attached to those around him. For some time, he had been fighting a difficult battle against a serious illness. By his side, his sister, who had been living with him since her arrival in Canada in May 2024, supported him with courage and dedication until the very end.
Coach Sadia devoted a large part of his life to education and sport. He was a coach for several years at the soccer club ASRPP, now known as CS Montréal Centre. He was also a high school physical education teacher, where he deeply impacted many young people, including his former players and his students, through his commitment, his kindness, and his values.
On November 8, 2025, his health condition worsened, and he was admitted under medical supervision at Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital. Doctors then informed us that his days were numbered.
It was on December 22, 2025 that Coach Sadia passed away at the hospital, in the presence of his sister. His passing leaves a great void, but his memory and the impact he had on his family, his former players, his students, and all the people he crossed paths with will continue to live on.
A GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up to support his family, particularly for the repatriation of his body to Senegal and to help them during this difficult period. We would greatly appreciate any sharing of this initiative in order to give it the widest possible visibility.
Thank you to everyone who will take a moment to think of him, share his story, and support his family. We pray for him and for his family as they go through this difficult time.
