Homey for the Holidays
Donation protected
Two of the hardest working, biggest-hearted people I know are going through a rough patch. Mary is my favorite bartender. Her partner, Greg (Homey) Rowley is a highly skilled finish carpenter. He is an independent contractor specializing in trimming out custom homes. He makes a good living when work is available.
In August Homey blew out a kneecap while working. Doc said, "no problem, easy surgery and back to work in six weeks". During surgery they discovered more damage. At best, he may be working in January! Sadly the surgical wounds are not healing and continue to drain, so that may be optimistic.
Like most independent workers Homey's insurance is not stellar and there is no income. Mary is working too many hours to try to pick up the slack. Her two teen daughters have part-time jobs to help.
So very many of us live check-to-check and loss of income is catastrophic. For this to happen just before the Holidays is especially tragic. Can you join me in helping good people get through a hard time?
Thanks for caring!
